Six years later, Ray is one of daytimes most popular hosts perhaps the only one that would be asked to do an FHM shoot. Rachel Ray defended her racy photos months ago to Nightline, saying that she might do it again if asked though any new photos would have a lot to live up to.
The search for Rays FHM shoot is back up on Internet searches, for some unknown reason. She had those pictures taken six years ago, and talked about them on Nightline back in March. However, the shots are still topping Internet searches, as Ray reveals her recipes and much more in the kitchen.
FHM has taken much more racy photos than this, but these shots seem to be more noteworthy with age. Ray was just coming into her own as an icon in 2003, and now she is a full fledged star. She now rivals the likes of The View, Regis and Kelly, Martha and Ellen in popularity with her daytime show, as she is Americas newest celebrity homemaker.
But unlike most of Americas daytime talk show hosts, Ray is a sex symbol in some circles. FHM is certainly one of those circles, judging by her shoot in 2003. But not everyone was happy with it, as Ray said some of her fans, and even her mother, objected to the racy photos back then.
However, in her March Nightline interview, she said she had no regrets about it or anything else. In fact, she said shed do it again tomorrow. Rachel Ray is now a much bigger icon, so FHM might have a harder time arranging for more racy photos now.
It is rare that a talk show host would be asked for such a thing yet Ray also said it was shocking that theyd ask a 35-year-old to pose for them to begin with. In many ways, Ray has been breaking the mold over the years.
Ray continues to impress FHM, as she was named one of their sexiest women in the world for 2009 albeit at No. 100. But as she heads for 2010, and the seven-year anniversary of her FHM shoot, her appeal continues to cross demographics and kitchens whether shes racy or not.
